Job Description

Brock & Scott, PLLC is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney licensed in West Virginia to join our growing legal team. This position is responsible for handling foreclosure and creditors’ rights matters on behalf of the Firm’s clients while providing high-quality legal representation, responsive client service, and effective case management.

The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, comfortable managing a high-volume caseload, and able to independently move matters forward while working collaboratively with attorneys, clients, courts, and internal business partners.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage foreclosure matters from referral through resolution, including contested and uncontested proceedings.
  • Prepare, review, and approve pleadings, motions, affidavits, orders, notices, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, depositions, conferences, and other legal proceedings as required.
  • Analyze case files, title information, loan documents, and supporting records to identify legal issues and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Provide legal guidance regarding foreclosure processes, procedural requirements, compliance concerns, and applicable state and federal law.
  • Maintain responsibility for a high-volume caseload while ensuring deadlines, court requirements, and client expectations are met.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, strategy, legal developments, and recommended action.
  • Work closely with Firm staff and operational teams to resolve file-level issues and promote timely case progression.
  • Identify potential legal, procedural, or compliance concerns and escalate matters appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates within Firm and client case-management systems.
  • Participate in client meetings, training sessions, and Firm initiatives as needed.
  • Perform other duties, special projects, and legal assignments as required.
