Kean Miller is seeking an experienced Eminent Domain and Commercial Litigation Attorney in our Houston office.


Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of seven (7) years of litigation experience with a primary focus on eminent domain matters, energy and land-use litigation, and commercial litigation. The Firm represents a broad range of clients, including common carriers, gas utilities, pipeline companies, and electrical utilities exercising the power of eminent domain to acquire temporary and permanent easements for transmission and lateral lines. Qualified candidates must be capable of developing and executing sophisticated litigation strategies and handling all phases of the condemnation process, from survey access and initial offers through special commissioners’ hearings and judicial proceedings involving right-to-take and damages issues. 


The candidate should possess the following characteristics:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in eminent domain, energy/land-use litigation, and commercial litigation 
  • Experience representing condemnors in all phases of the condemnation process (survey access, initial/final offers, special commissioners’ hearings, as well as judicial challenges) 
  • Strong litigation background with experience in complex, multi-party and multi-district cases
