Alaska Air Group is seeking a Paralegal to join the Legal team. This individual will provide legal and administrative support to the Commercial Legal team for Alaska Air Group (AAG). The role will assist with a wide range of transactions and other commercial matters, with a focus on supporting the aircraft fleet.
- Paralegal (P2) is responsible for assisting Commercial attorneys with the contracting process. As an individual contributor, this role supports attorneys and other legal professionals in contract negotiations, general project management and other tasks as assigned.
- Senior Paralegal (P3) is a subject matter expert in assisting attorneys in all aspects of the contracting process. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgement in assisting attorneys with drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and other legal documents. This role also advises internal business clients on contract interpretations and compliance, and involves coordinating with outside counsel.
Paralegal
Required:
- 2 years of paralegal experience in transactions in a law firm or in-house legal environment.
- Bachelors degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- A paralegal certificate from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited program or relevant training/experience in lieu of this certification.
- Resourceful and capable of working independently and prioritizing work.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, particularly senior leadership.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt to various work styles, risk and change in direction of projects and strategies in high pressure situations that require sound decision making.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Sr. Paralegal
Required:
- 4 years of paralegal experience in transactions in a law firm or in-house legal environment.
- Bachelors degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- A paralegal certificate from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited program or relevant training/experience in lieu of this certification.
- Resourceful and capable of working independently and prioritizing work.
- Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, particularly senior leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred:
- Experience with aircraft fleet or complex financial transactions.
- Proficiency with contract lifecycle management and document management software.
- Experience working with standard agreements such as NDAs.
- Experience with corporate organizational matters.
- Experience with IP portfolio management.
