Title: Mid-Level Litigation Associate - Environmental Law
Location: Hybrid -San Francisco, San Diego, Palo Alto, or Los Angeles, CA

- Handle environmental litigation, including defense of enforcement actions and regulatory compliance matters.
- Advise clients on emerging environmental issues, regulatory requirements, and liability exposure, including public relations matters.
- Negotiate compliance agreements, cost recovery agreements, and permitting or regulatory compliance matters.
- Work with environmental consultants on technical aspects of environmental operations and remediation.
- Represent clients in industries such as heavy industries, defense, chemical manufacturing, and maritime.
- Admitted to practice in California.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental law, with experience in key environmental statutes (CERCLA, RCRA, and California laws).
- Experience in environmental litigation, enforcement defense, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with California state environmental agencies; federal agency experience is preferred.
- Strong background in advising clients on business decisions relating to environmental issues and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in negotiating environmental compliance and liability agreements.
- Comfort with the technical aspects of environmental remediation and experience working with environmental consultants.
- Experience with sediment-based contamination is a plus.
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills, with attention to detail and business judgment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, colleagues, and third parties.
- Deliver timely, accurate, and high-quality work products and meet deadlines.
- Maintain positive working relationships and comply with all firm policies and practices.
- Manage competing demands and perform work duties effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a nationally ranked law school.
