Under the direction of the Supervising Deputy Attorney General for the Facilities Enforcement Team (FET) of the Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse (DMFEA), The Legal Analyst performs a wide variety of complex paralegal duties, including assisting Deputy Attorney Generals and Senior Legal Analysts in the investigation, filing, and prosecution of complex civilcases. The Legal Analyst also manages, reviews, analyzes, and evaluates documents and data, prepares discovery, subpoenas, witness lists, exhibit lists, and demonstrative evidence, coordinates witnesses, prepares correspondence with outside agencies and the public, creates and maintains databases and libraries, and performs factual and legal research.

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
Ability to communicate and write effectively, organize voluminous documents and information, and work professionally with attorneys, investigators, auditors, and retained experts. Knowledge of civil procedure, California Rules of Court, and Local Rules, including applicable deadlines for motions, discovery, and other filings. Knowledge of California Rules of Civil Procedure. Accuracy and speed of written work, ability to work under short deadlines. Experience in complex civillitigation, including management, analysis, and presentation of large numbers of documents and large amounts of data. Experience in and aptitude for using databases and other relevant software for document and case management. Positive attitude and excellent work ethic. Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure. Attention to and appreciation for detail. Self-starter willing and able to work independently.
