Under the direct supervision of the Civil Law Division Supervisor I, the analyst is responsible for various functions within the division. Duties require strong organizational skills, analytical ability, effective writing and communication skills, and the ability to perform administrative tasks involving the management and preparation of purchase orders and purchase requisition forms for IT contracts, software licenses, legal periodical subscriptions, the Division's PACER accounts, among a variety of other responsibilities. The analyst would provide consultative services, analytical support, advice, and problem resolution to management in regard to subscriptions, IT contracts, fiscal monitoring drills, and other budgetary tasks. Duties require strong organizational skills, analytical ability, effective writing and communication skills, experience pertaining to civil procedure, state procedures for purchasing goods and services. Assists the Legal Division Manager and Chief Assistant with other tasks or special reports as needed, as well as provide back-up assistance to other staff within the Civil Executive Unit in times of absence and on an as-needed operational basis.

The incumbent must have strong analytical skills. The incumbent is expected to consistently exercise the highest degree of initiative, and independence in performing his/her duties. Good judgment, effective communication and strong organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and work independently and cooperatively with others. Must be dependable, have good attendance and demonstrate good working habits. The incumbent must be able to work well under pressure and perform multiple tasks with accuracy, precision and neatness. Must work effectively with all levels of staff and be able to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities. The incumbent must be a self-starter with a positive attitude and be able to assume other duties as necessary. Must have good computer skills. Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, AIS, ProLaw and Windows is desired.

o Range A. This range shall apply to those individuals who do not meet the criteria for Range B or Range C.
o Range B. This range shall apply to persons who have satisfactorily completed six months of experience equivalent to that of an Analyst I (Range A) or Staff Services Analyst, Fair Political Practices Commission (Range A), or Management Services Technician (Range B); or to persons who have six months of satisfactory experience outside of State service performing analytical duties equivalent to those of an Analyst I.
o Range C. This range shall apply to persons who have graduated from a recognized four-year accredited college or university; or who satisfactorily completed the equivalent of 12 months of experience equivalent to Analyst I (Range B) or Staff Services Analyst, Fair Political Practices Commission (Range B); experience; or to persons who have 18 months of satisfactory experience outside the State service performing analytical duties equivalent to those of an Analyst I.

Working Conditions
