Job Summary:

SPL is growing and is currently looking for a Corporate Paralegal in Denver, CO. The Corporate Paralegal will be responsible for reviewing contracts (including MSAs), providing high-level employment law guidance in coordination with external counsel, and advising on general corporate risk. The ideal candidate is a pragmatic professional with a strong understanding of legal operations in complex, multi-site organizations.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and redline MSAs, vendor agreements, SOWs, and other commercial contracts;
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry best practices;
  • Provide employment law guidance on workplace safety, accommodations, and employee relations and coordinate with outside counsel as needed;
  • Identify and assess legal and operational risks across corporate, lab, and field environments and recommend and support mitigation strategies;
  • Draft, update, and maintain compliance policies and SOPs in response to evolving laws and business needs;
  • Serve as legal liaison for HR, Operations, Safety, Technology, and other departments;
  • Translate legal requirements into actionable practices;
  • Monitor regulatory changes related to employment, safety, environmental, and operational compliance and ensure timely companywide alignment;
  • Manage copyright registrations and renewals to maintain enforceable IP protections;
  • Review and support lease agreement negotiations to align with legal and operational requirements;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant paralegal or in-house legal support experience;
  • Experience in the oil and gas, energy, environmental services, or similar industry preferred;
  • Familiarity with intellectual property processes, including copyright registration and renewals;
  • Experience supporting HR or field safety functions in a legal capacity;
  • Experience reviewing and supporting negotiation of real estate or location lease agreements;
  • Knowledge of risk management practices specific to multi-location operations;
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract review and employment law fundamentals;
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, FLSA, and employment laws affecting field and lab environments;
  • Understanding of copyright law and intellectual property management best practices;
  • Ability to review and interpret lease agreements in alignment with business operations;
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a detail-oriented approach;
  • Clear and concise communication skills;
  • Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders across all levels and functions;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal/contract management platforms;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.


Education:

Bachelor’s Degree required, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent legal training strongly preferred.


Travel Requirements:

This position may require occasional travel.


Work Schedule:

This position follows a standard Monday–Friday, 8-hour schedule and may require overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
