Baird Holm is seeking a Director of Legal Administration with excellent management skills to provide supervision, development, and guidance to members of our Legal Assistant, Library Resource, Hospitality and Office Services teams. This role involves close collaboration with attorneys and other teams to manage workloads, training needs, and develop best practices in each respective area. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Building relationships with attorneys and support personnel to best match skills and abilities to practice areas and align distribution of workloads.
- Identifying training and development opportunities to advance all areas of legal support services. Developing both group and individual training plans to ensure skill sets of all supervised individuals meet the Firm expectations.
- Developing a skills inventory to document and track essential skills required for all Legal Assistants as well as unique skills required for certain practice areas.
- Defining and documenting best practices and procedures for legal support services
- Managing the budget for office services, library and other administrative expenses.
- Participating in the management team and collaborate with other Directors.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities desired:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain effective relationships with partners, attorneys, and staff.
- Minimum of five (5) years of employee supervision and management experience required.
- Experience in the legal industry is preferred but not required.
