The Practice Support Operations Lead is an integral part of Latham’s Technology & Information Services team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the Practice Support Center (PSC) team and providing expert analytical support in the areas of litigation and transactional matters, as well as coaching and educating the PSC staff, leading them in their professional development endeavors. This role will be located in either our Global Services Office in downtown Los Angeles or our New York office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. This role has an alternative schedule of Monday - Friday 6:00 PM - 2:00 AM.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert analytical support in the areas of litigation and transactional matters
- Overseeing and coordinating the daily operations and workflow of the PSC team, managing all practice support projects, and ensuring the highest quality of project delivery and support
- Conducting research and analysis, and drafting reports and summaries to support case teams and project managers
- Collaborating with the Manager to implement role performance standards, identify training needs/issues, and support the development, implementation, and assessment of ongoing practice support training programs
- Leading the team toward accurate and timely completion of projects and assignments, ensuring that all tasks and duties are completed within the firm's set guidelines and policies
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Possess a strong understanding of e-discovery and the e-discovery reference model (EDRM)
- Demonstrate strong project management and consulting skills, with an emphasis on directly supporting teams of attorneys and support staff
- Display an enthusiastic attitude, along with the ability to quickly learn new skills
And have:
- A minimum of five (5) years of technical experience, preferably in a legal environment or at a vendor specializing in providing legal technology processing services
- A Relativity Certified Administrator certification, preferably
- An associate’s degree or equivalent, preferably a bachelor’s degree; in lieu of a degree, a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience may be considered
