Role Summary

The Corporate Paralegal will play a key role in supporting the Legal function of one of the largest ice cream companies in the United States, generating approximately $2.5 billion in annual revenue. In this dynamic role, you’ll collaborate closely with attorneys and business leaders to drive corporate governance, manage contracts, ensure compliance, oversee litigation, and optimize legal operations. Your work will help the company operate efficiently, responsibly, and at scale—while contributing to the success of beloved brands enjoyed by millions.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Governance & Entity Management

  • Maintain corporate records, minute books, resolutions, and organizational charts for domestic and international entities
  • Prepare and file board and committee materials, consents, and meeting minutes
  • Manage entity formations, dissolutions, mergers, and restructurings
  • Coordinate annual filings, licenses, and good-standing requirements across jurisdictions

Contracts & Commercial Support

  • Assist with contract lifecycle management, including intake, tracking, execution, and archiving
  • Support review and administration of NDAs, vendor agreements, customer agreements, and intercompany contracts
  • Maintain contract databases and reporting for leadership and Legal
  • Lead the contract lifecycle (intake to archive) across agreements, including supply & quality agreements, distributor/retailer contracts, broker/agency/influencer agreements, licensing, promotions/sweepstakes, and sponsorships.

Litigation & Dispute Management

  • Support management of litigation, claims, and disputes across jurisdictions
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on case administration, document production, and deadlines
  • Maintain litigation matter tracking, calendars, and reporting
  • Assist with discovery, legal holds, and document retention processes
  • Support responses to subpoenas, government inquiries, and audits
  • Support litigation/claims (product liability, employment, commercial, advertising), including legal holds, custodial collection, discovery coordination with outside counsel, insurance notice/tender, and subpoena/government inquiry responses

Compliance & Regulatory Support

  • Support compliance programs (e.g., ethics, data privacy, trade, employment-related compliance)
  • Assist with regulatory filings, audits, and internal investigations
  • Track legal and compliance deadlines and requirements globally
  • Track and coordinate consumer privacy requirements (e.g., CPRA) for marketing programs, vendor DPAs, and retention schedules in partnership with IT/Security and Marketing Ops.
  • Works closely with Director of Operations Regulatory to ensure compliance with federal, state and local law.  Inform clients of audit activities and due dates, and raise awareness to any gaps. 
  • Track and coordinate consumer privacy requirements (e.g., CPRA) for marketing programs, vendor DPAs, and retention schedules in partnership with IT/Security and Marketing Ops.
  • Works closely with Director of Operations Regulatory to ensure compliance with federal, state and local law.  Inform clients of audit activities and due dates, and raise awareness to any gaps. 

Legal Operations & Process Improvement

  • Support Legal department workflows, document management, and knowledge sharing
  • Partner with Finance, HR, Tax, and other functions on cross-functional legal matters
  • Assist with outside counsel coordination, billing review, and matter tracking
  • Ensure proper billing through 3rd party system – Legal Tracker.  Track proper intake/coding, monthly accruals, invoice review against OCGs, budget variance tracking, and KPI dashboards for leadership.
  • Develop and maintain contract playbooks, clause libraries, templates, and Legal SOPs (e.g., legal holds, subpoenas, marketing review), driving consistency and speed for a lean legal team.
  • Manage Outside Counsel engagements (RFPs/panel management, rate negotiations, SOWs), enforce OCGs, and deliver quarterly spend analytics and savings initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of corporate paralegal experience, preferably in a large company or law firm
  • Demonstrated experience supporting litigation matters
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment

Preferred

  • Experience supporting multinational or highly regulated organizations
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management and e-billing tools
  • Experience working with senior executives and boards
  • Exposure to employment, privacy, or commercial law

 

The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is between $80,000 and $105,000 per year.
