Job Description

Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II, the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) has full responsibility for approving/denying applications for game and gaming activity review. In addition, the SSM I is responsible for directing a team of analysts who are responsible for processing applications for game and gaming activity review, conducting applicant investigations, site visits for compliance to the California gambling establishments, and interpreting and applying gambling related laws and regulations. Plans, organizes, and directs the work of Associate Governmental Program Analysts and Staff Services Analysts engaged in conducting the review of complex applications requesting approval to conduct a new game or gaming activity in gambling establishments throughout California. Oversee the preparation of written reports on the approval or denial of applications for new games and/or gaming activities. Guide analysts in research regarding the rules and methods of new games and gaming activities.

This position is in the Division of Law Enforcement, Bureau of Gambling Control, Licensing Section, Game Review Unit located in Sacramento.
