Position Purpose
We are looking for a candidate with 3-5 years of direct experience working with immigration court filings, drafting pleadings, evidence packets and managing deadlines and court calendar hearings and appeals.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Perform legal and factual research as needed
- Help attorney draft and file motions, briefs, pleadings, appeals and other court documents
- Organize exhibits for filings and court appearances
- Help prepare clients for hearings
- Maintain calendar hearings and deadlines
- Oversee communication with clients regarding cases
- Provide strategic insight and additional thoughts on case process
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Experience filing with EOIR Court system - including ECAS – and with EOIR rules for formatting and filing
- Experience drafting pleadings, brief and motions for use in immigration court proceedings, including asylum applications, EOIR 42B applications, pleadings, application for cancellation of removal, motions for deferred prosecution, to reopen, to terminate proceedings, to reconsider, to reopen in absentia orders, and various pre-trial motions (continue, change venue, substitute or withdraw counsel, accept untimely filing, stay removal or deportation, etc.)
- Experience interacting with governmental agencies and court clerks
- Knowledge of immigration procedures and processes – experience with humanitarian and family-based visas a plus
- Experience as an attorney in home country a bonus!
