Duties If selected, you will serve as a Financial Litigation Technician for the Civil Division of the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Washington. Typical work assignments will include: Initiating contact with debtors concerning payment of their obligations, their ability to pay, and negotiating written payment schedules to assure successful collection of debts; Analyzing claims to determine the type of indebtedness to record and maintaining proper debtor and account information; Drafting and/or preparing letters, forms and reports necessary to initiate the collection of debts; Entering and tracking financial data in automated systems and spreadsheets; Evaluating debt collection documents and records for mathematical accuracy, verifying that payment transactions are properly documented, and identifying discrepancies; and Preparing documentation required to take legal action, such as settlements, write-offs, and liquidations of civil and/or criminal judgments. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Salary- $56,153 - $80,848/year
