Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior attorney to join our Wildfire Litigation team. This individual will play a key role assisting the Director of our Wildfire litigation team in an overseeing operations (including personnel management), providing leadership to the team, and driving strategy on wildfire litigation matters. This position is largely administrative in nature. The ideal candidate will bring experience in environmental law, wildfire litigation, mass tort, or complex litigation, along with a strong ability to manage cases, mentor attorneys, and collaborate with firm leadership.

 

SALARY: $200,000- $270,000 annually

Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualifications for the role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Director with administrative, operational and leadership functions for the Wildfire Litigation team, ensuring efficiency and alignment with firm strategy.
  • Assist the Director with managing and overseeing complex wildfire and environmental cases from intake through resolution.
  • Assist the Director with developing and implementing case strategies, supervising discovery, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Mentor and supervise associate attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
  • Work closely with firm leadership to coordinate litigation strategy and business development opportunities.
  • When needed, represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Partner with internal teams to manage workflows, resources, and client communications.
  • Contribute to the growth and success of the Wildfire Litigation practice area through leadership and operational oversight.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in California. Special consideration given to candidates licensed in multiple jurisdictions.
  • 10+ years of litigation experience with a focus on environmental, wildfire, mass tort, or complex litigation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Filevine, Adobe, Excel, Microsoft Office, Outlook.  Familiarity with E-Discovery and law programs such as, Sharefile, PACER,  CaseAnywhere, Westlaw, Smart Advocate, Everlaw, OneLegal.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams and providing leadership within a law firm or litigation practice.
  • Strong case management, organizational, and operational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, with experience in depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across practice groups and with firm leadership.
