Ben Hall Law is a small but growing law firm seeking to add another attorney to its growing child abuse and neglect practice. The attorney will provide legal representation in juvenile court proceedings, handle complex litigation, and work closely with department clients and other professionals to protect the best interests of children and families.

The attorney will provide legal representation in juvenile court proceedings, handle complex litigation, and work closely with department clients and other professionals to protect the best interests of children and families.
Responsibilities:
- Represent department in child abuse and neglect cases, including initial hearings, review hearings, trials, and appeals
- Prepare and draft legal arguments and pleadings in juvenile court proceedings
- Advise department clients on legal issues
- Work with department staff, including caseworkers and investigators, to develop and implement case strategies
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and other alternative dispute resolution processes
- Conduct thorough legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and precedents affecting child welfare
- Work effectively with parents, guardians, and other attorneys involved in cases
- Comply with all legal standards and regulations
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
- Other duties as assigned
- JD degree from an accredited law school
- Active member in good standing of the State Bar of Michigan
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Meet or exceed billable requirements
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
- High ethical standards and professional integrity
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with staff, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Working knowledge of criminal law procedures

- No insurance yet, but plan to be added by January 2025
- Salary range $75,000-115,000 depending upon qualifications
- Eligible for bonuses, including performance and origination bonuses
