Job Description

The City of Seabrook is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-service-focused Court Clerk II to join our Municipal Court Services team. This role performs a variety of intermediate-level administrative, clerical, and technical duties to support daily court operations while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional customer service in person, by phone, email, fax, and online chat regarding fines, payment plans, court settings, warrants, and related inquiries.

  • Collect, reconcile, and record fines, fees, bonds, and payments using Incode software.

  • Process citations, bonds, pleas, and open records requests in compliance with laws and policies.

  • Assist defendants with payment plans, community service, deferred dispositions, compliance dismissals, and driving safety courses.

  • Prepare and maintain court dockets, legal documents, and courtroom setups.

  • Coordinate with judges, prosecutors, law enforcement, attorneys, and the public.

  • Support collection efforts, case compliance reviews, and dismissal processing.

  • Serve as backup support to Court Clerk I as needed.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • At least two (2) years of experience with court policies and procedures.

  • Two (2) years of general office, clerical, or customer service experience.

  • Valid Texas driver's license with a good driving record.

  • Texas Municipal Court Clerk Level I Certification required.

  • Must obtain TLETS certification within 12 months of hire.

  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required, Incode software preferred.

  • Bilingual skills preferred.

  • Prior cash-handling and reconciliation experience preferred.

  • Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.

  • Knowledge of court procedures, state laws, and city ordinances.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism.

  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions
  • Work performed in an office or courtroom setting.

  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to meet vision and auditory requirements for effective performance.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Grade: 106 | FLSA: Non-Exempt
