Job Description
We are representing a premier law firm in their search for a highly skilled and dynamic Commercial Real Estate Paralegal. This role is integral to the successful execution of complex commercial and industrial real estate deals. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that support attorneys from the initial stages of a transaction through to post-closing.
Core responsibilities include preparing and managing deal files and checklists, as well as drafting essential corporate documents for entity formation, such as certificates, resolutions, and consents. You will play a critical role in the due diligence process, meticulously reviewing title reports, surveys, zoning reports, and other third-party documents to identify potential issues. A key part of the position involves preparing correspondence and facilitating communication between clients, opposing counsel, and various vendors. The paralegal will also be instrumental in organizing signature pages and preparing comprehensive closing files and binders. This is a hands-on role that includes overseeing escrow-style closings, preparing closing statements, and managing all post-closing requirements. The position requires a high level of organization and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on both transactional support and administrative precision.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Paralegal Studies or a Bachelor's Degree with a Paralegal Certification.
- At least five (5) years of paralegal experience in a law firm setting, with a specific focus on commercial and industrial real estate transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to support all phases of a commercial real estate deal, from due diligence to closing and post-closing procedures.
Preferred Skills
- Expertise in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and experience with document management software like Kofax.
- A Notary Public qualification or the willingness to become one.
- Experience with IRS filings for obtaining EINs (SS-4s) is a significant advantage.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to thrive under pressure and manage a high volume of transactions simultaneously.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- A reliable and self-motivated professional who is a collaborative team player.
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed to meet transactional deadlines.
