DutiesAs a Equal Employment Opportunity Officer, your typical work assignments may include:
- Explains performance expectations to employees and provides regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses.
- Responsible for executing the day-to-day operations and provides support to Agency staff engaged in programs or activities that includes the full range of personnel, employment and management issues.
- Appraises subordinate workers performance ensuring consistency and equity in rating techniques.
- Evaluates legislative and program changes to assess their impact on organizational policies and goals, developing strategic alternatives as needed.
- Plans and schedules work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution.
- Hears and resolves employee complaints and refers serious unresolved complaints to higher-level management.
- $169,279 - $197,200/year

For GS 15 applicant must meet specialized experience below:
Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-14 grade level in 1) Served as an advisor to agency leadership on EEO program compliance; 2) Assisted managers in developing and carrying out affirmative action plans and in dealing with systemic and/or compliance problems; 3) Advised and provided counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management; and 4) Directed and managed an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Office, Complaint Processing (Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and related), Alternate Dispute Resolution, Reasonable Accommodation, and Civil Rights (Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and related) Programs in compliance with 29 CFR 1614; and 5) Established operational guidelines, objectives, and procedures for achieving EEO solutions.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
