About the Role:

Databricks is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel to support our Healthcare & Life Sciences (HLS) vertical. Reporting to the Director, Assistant General Counsel, you will negotiate Master Services Agreements, Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), NDAs, SOWs, and other key contracts with healthcare and life sciences customers. This role requires expertise in healthcare transactions and related, and regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA.

What You’ll Do
  • Negotiate and draft contracts with HLS customers, ensuring compliance with privacy, data security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (sales, finance, product, compliance) to drive revenue-generating transactions while mitigating risks.
  • Streamline contracting processes, improving templates, terms, and workflows to support high-scale transactions.
  • Advise on legal and business risks, becoming a subject matter expert on customer transactions in the HLS vertical. 
  • Support strategic initiatives and OKRs, including contract management improvements and special projects across the legal team.
Who you Are
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of contract negotiation experience in SaaS and healthcare/life sciences at a high-growth technology company.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA, data privacy, and healthcare regulations, requirements, and related contracting tactics. 
  • Process-oriented mindset with experience improving contracting workflows.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, government stakeholders, and external counsel.
