We’re looking for a curious, driven intern to help us modernize how compliance works at scale by integrating artificial intelligence into legal and regulatory processes across Ichor Systems.
This role is ideal for students at the intersection of technology, law, and policy who want to apply AI to real-world challenges—improving efficiency, reducing risk, and transforming how organizations manage compliance. You’ll collaborate with teams across Legal, Compliance, and business functions to rethink workflows, introduce automation, and build smarter systems.
Reporting to the Sr Manager Legal Programs, this internship is expected to last 10-12 weeks and will be site at our Austin, TX location.
What You’ll Do
You’ll play a hands-on role in improving and reimagining compliance operations by:
- Building AI-powered solutions to automate compliance reporting and streamline the review of contracts (e.g., supplier agreements, customer contracts, NDAs).
- Analyzing current compliance systems—tools, workflows, and handoffs—to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Mapping and documenting processes (intake, review, approval, tracking, reporting) to support standardization and scalability.
- Designing improved workflows that incorporate automation, AI, and appropriate review controls.
- Recommending process improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, auditability, and user experience, including opportunities for automation or better system integration.
- Developing dashboards or metrics to track compliance performance (cycle times, throughput, risk indicators).
- Ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and governance standards.
Education
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as:
- Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Data Science
- Law, Legal Studies, or Public Policy
- Information Systems or Regulatory Technology (RegTech)
Skills & Interests
- Familiarity with AI concepts or tools (e.g., Python, NLP, machine learning, or low-code automation)
- Interest in compliance, legal operations, or workflow automation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to clearly document processes and communicate recommendations
- Comfortable working across both technical and non-technical teams
