State Compensation Insurance Fund’s Sacramento Legal office is seeking multipleAttorneys at the Attorney III or Attorney level to join our exceptional legal team. At State Fund, we represent the insured employers and various State Agencies of California, handling challenging workers' compensation-related issues. As an Attorney or Attorney III with us, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact by handling, defending, litigating, and resolving workers’ compensation cases.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking attorneys with experience in California Workers’ Compensation law, as well as those with experience in litigation and other Administrative Law forums. While our primary focus is on experienced candidates, newly admitted attorneys and those with little or no Workers’ Compensation background are also encouraged to apply for an opportunity to join our team. Location:
The Sacramento Legal unit appears at Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) district offices throughout Northern California. Attorneys within this unit primarily appear at the Sacramento WCAB location. The incumbent/successful candidate may also be required to appear at other WCAB offices and locations on occasion.
To facilitate local in-person hearings, we seek candidates located within Sacramento County and/or counties nearby. Reimbursement for local travel will be provided within the allowable mile radius.
Your Role:

- Collaborating with internal and external clients
- Drafting pleadings, correspondences, and other legal documents
- Conducting discovery and supporting case development
- Participating in settlement discussions and negotiations
- Making regular court appearances at the Workers Compensation Appeals Board, including trials

Salary- $10,852 - $15,325/month
