WHAT YOU GET TO DO

The immigration paralegal will assist and provide a range of legal support, particularly, but not exclusively, related to immigration matters to Director Legal Affairs, Corporate Counsel, CEO and other Knapp Departments as directed in a fast-paced, growing office.    

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare draft documents and complete forms for various visa and green card applications.  
  • Monitor visa request and renewal deadlines. 
  • Work closely with the Human Resources teams at Knapp Inc. and at various subsidiaries to coordinate tasks and provide support.
  • Coordinate with external organizations (Embassies, law firms, etc.) to support visa and green card applications.  
  • Coordinate with the Executive Assistant to the Board to assist with legal documents and filings, as needed. 
  • Research and monitor developments in immigration that might impact processes.
  • Support monitoring and preparation of contractor and business license applications and renewals, occasionally as needed.
  • Prepare written reports and correspondence.
  • Build and maintain databases and files.

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree or certificate program in paralegal studies.
  • 2 -5 years of experience working in a medium or large law firm or corporate environment, including one year of immigration experience or the desire to learn and become proficient in immigration matters.
  • Experience preparing legal documents and understanding legal language and terminology.
  • Strong proofreading/editing skills required.
  • Relevant computer knowledge and experience.
