Job Summary
As a Lead Audio/Visual Technician, you will be responsible for installation supervision, maintenance, and support of A/V systems and IT infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted operations. You’ll work closely with House Television production staff, IT, and committee staff to troubleshoot technical issues and implement innovative solutions for live and recorded broadcasts. The House of Representatives maintains six video control stations servicing seven committee rooms, and the House Chamber. The product line used features Ross Carbonite video switchers, Ross Xpression character generators, and Panasonic PTZ camera systems.

Required Education and Experience
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and upgrade broadcast and production systems, including video/audio routers, servers, camera controllers, and other presentation equipment.
- Monitor signal integrity and resolve transmission issues in real-time.
- Collaborate with manufacturers and IT staff on network infrastructure, software updates, and security compliance.
- Provide technical support for live broadcasts.
- Document system configurations, updates, and standard operating procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in broadcast engineering, media technology, systems integration, or related field.
- Strong understanding of SDI, IP, and digital audio/video systems.
- Ability to work under pressure in live broadcast environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
