Job Description

Beghou Consulting is an Evanston-based firm (nine offices worldwide, ~300 professionals) that has spent more than three decades helping life‑sciences companies optimize commercial performance through data‑driven strategy, advanced analytics, and purpose‑built technology. Our mission is to “bring together analytical minds and innovative technology to help life‑sciences companies navigate the complexity of health care and improve patients’ lives.”

We’re seeking a strategic, commercially minded Contracts Administrator or Paralegal to lead our legal and risk interactions with clients, vendors, and partners. You’ll manage a wide range of agreements—from client contracts and software licenses to equity agreements and leases—while helping define and standardize our legal and commercial frameworks.

Build something from the ground up—you’ll be the first internal legal hire with the opportunity to shape the function. High-impact role in a fast-growing, intellectually stimulating environment. Path to leadership—this role has long-term potential to evolve into a General Counsel position, or similar, as applicable.

We'll trust you to:
    • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements: client contracts, vendor agreements, subscriptions, software/data licenses, and NDAs.
    • Lead lease negotiations and manage back-and-forth with landlords and property managers.
    • Define and refine contractual standards—including limitations on liability, data protection, and indemnification.
    • Counseling on means to mitigate legal risk and resolving legal issues that occur during project delivery
    • In addition to supporting the development of pricing structures, you will assist in enhancing our contractual terms to better protect our rights and ensure we have clear provisions that allow for the reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses incurred during client engagements.
    • Collaborate with leadership to align legal terms with business goals, including pricing structures, billing terms, and revenue recognition.
    • Evaluate commercial thresholds and economic considerations beyond our core services.
    • Support client negotiations with a focus on balancing risk and opportunity.
    • Manage and maintain a standard set of equity-related documents.
    • Help define authority matrices and internal approval workflows.
    • Manage existing equity related documents, to applicable new hires
    • Ensure internal policies are consistent, protective, and aligned with best practices.
    • Build and implement scalable legal processes and templates.
    • Normalize contract language across clients and vendors.
    • Identify opportunities for tax optimization (e.g., R&D credit language) and cost recovery.
    • Take ownership of all client/vendor contract reviews.
    • Proactively develop strategic parameters for contract terms
    • Begin managing equity documentation and workflows.
    • Refine and standardize contract language across the organization.
    • Collaborate on pricing and billing structures with a focus on revenue recognition.
    • Drive unification of business terms and internal legal policies.
You'll need to have:
    • 5+ years of experience in a contracts administrator, paralegal, or legal operations role.
    • Strong understanding of commercial contracts, liability frameworks, and ideally, the consulting domain.
    • Experience negotiating leases and managing equity documentation is a plus.
    • Business contracts attorney credentials is a plus.
    • Ability to think strategically and commercially—not just legally.
    • Comfortable working independently and building new processes from scratch.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Beghou, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case.
