Litigation Associate (Hybrid Growth Opportunity)

Pratice Area: Workers' Compensation Defense

Location: Coral Gables, FL (Miami/Brickell Downtown flagship office

Schedule: Hybrid/Remote (2 days per week mandatory) - 15 PTO after 90 days in - NO BILLABLE REQUIREMENT EVER, Annual Conferences required and regular networking is expected .

Salary: $95,000 - $135,000 starting base salary.

There is a proprietary bonus incentive plan that kicks in once the associate has become an independtly litigating attorney, taking cases from inception to completion and with tact and guile

Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 years, with at least 1 year dedicated to Florida's Stature 440 in litigation


With offices in Miami's vibrant Brickell district, and offering a hybrid 2/3 work schedule, our client seeks to bring on another inquisitive, forensic, and passionate litigation associate who is passionately driven for long-term success and stability. The firm's average tenure is 4.5 years, with many attorneys in leadership having tenure of over 12 years. The two managing partners have both been with the firm for over 30 years.

The Opportunity:

  • This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated legal professional to join a holistic legal practice celebrated for its innovative approach to litigation and practical client service.
  • You'll become instrumental in the defense of employers, insurers, insurance brokers, and other entities against potentially fraudulent workplace injury claims.
  • As an associate, you'll benefit from direct mentorship and hands-on litigation experience alongside managing partners and leadership staff.
  • The firm is committed to building up each associate they hire to become an independent litigator within workers' compensation defense,
  • Eventuallly build up a book and manage a robust caseload, which will begin to trigger performance incentives.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active member of The Florida Bar in good standing.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with at least 6 months (preferably 1 year) directly within Florida's Statute 440 workers' compensation law.
  • Forensic, inquisitive, and curious analytical and research skills.
  • Competent, if not superb, legal writing ability.
  • Strong verbal skills and adaptive abilities.
  • A passionate commitment to workers' compensation defense litigation.
  • Technologically proficient with modern tools and quick to learn new applications.
