Job Summary:
The Legal Intern will support the Legal & Compliance team with a primary focus on contract lifecycle management, intake processes, and data organization. This role provides hands-on exposure to commercial legal operations, contract administration, and process improvement initiatives within an in-house legal environment.
The intern will assist with maintaining accurate contract records, tracking key contractual deadlines, supporting new agreement intake, and contributing to a strategic summer project designed to improve the company’s contract tracking and reminder systems. This position is ideal for students pursuing pre-law or paralegal studies who are interested in gaining practical experience in legal operations and compliance.
Key Responsibilities –
- Support contract management activities by tracking key contract dates, including renewals, expirations, and notice periods.
- Create, maintain, and test automated reminders and alerts within the contract lifecycle management (CLM) system.
- Review existing contracts to verify completeness and accuracy of contract metadata.
- Audit a defined subset of the company’s contract portfolio and identify missing, inconsistent, or incorrect data.
- Flag upcoming deadlines and issues to the legal team and relevant business stakeholders.
- Assist with logging new agreements into the CLM system or intake tracker.
- Review incoming contract requests for completeness and assign intake categories based on predefined criteria.
Other Responsibilities:
- Communicate with internal requestors to gather missing information for contract intake submissions.
- Maintain organized digital folders and enforce consistent naming conventions for legal documents.
- Assist with updating contract templates, clause libraries, and legal playbooks.
- Support preparation of contract summaries, comparison charts, and reports.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within contract intake and tracking workflows.
- Help document standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to contract management processes.
- Participate in legal team meetings, workflow discussions, and training sessions.
- Conduct basic research on contract-related questions as needed.

- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in pre-law, paralegal studies, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review and validate data for accuracy and consistency.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Comfortable working with databases, document management systems, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining regular communication with the legal team.
