Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Legal Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the Legal Department for a large, publicly traded construction company. This position provides high-level administrative and organizational support to in-house attorneys and paralegals, ensuring the efficient management of contracts, litigation matters, corporate compliance, and general legal functions. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, team-focused, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain relationship with unemployment TPA. Respond to unemployment claims by gathering necessary information, preparing responses, and liaising with relevant managers.
  • Maintain case management system by inputting and updating case information, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Develop and maintain legal forms for various purposes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Respond to routine requests for information and refer more complex requests to appropriate staff members.
  • Prepare routine letters and memoranda from specific instructions.
  • Assemble relevant data, compile information, and create routine reports as directed.
  • Log receipt of and distribute all legal documents and papers served on the Company, such as summonses, subpoenas, complaints, appeals and settlements.
  • Respond to subpoenas by coordinating with legal counsel, collecting required documentation, and ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal information and uphold ethical standards in all aspects of work.
  • Provide administrative support to legal team members, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and file organization.
  • Stay informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all aspects of responsibilities.
  • Any other duty, task or responsibility as assigned.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Degree:  High School or equivalent
  • Course of Study: Legal, Accounting, Political Science

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Legal Age Requirements:  At least 18 years of age
  • Minimum experience: 3- 5 years experience in Legal, Human Resources, Accounting
  • Preferred Experience: College level coursework.
  • Prior administrative support experience in a computerized office environment.
  • Prior experience with a law firm or in a corporate legal environment.
  • Experience with Legal Tracker and/or SimpleLegal a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to easily work with team members at all levels of management.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with legal document management and contract lifecycle systems (e.g., SimpleLegal / CounselGO, iManage, SharePoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mastery in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Understanding of confidentiality and privilege in handling sensitive company information.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, desire to serve, and focus on continuous improvement.

POSITION LOCATION

Onsite in Daytona Beach, FL

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is 100% in office.

Work is performed in a typical office environment and may require standing, bending, lifting of boxes or packages under 10 lbs., and sitting for long periods of time.

Work requires regularly inputting/retrieving words or data into or from an automated/computer system.

Compensation Range:

$20.43 - $30.64

The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
