Duties As a Financial Litigation Technician in the United States Attorney's Office (USAO), work assignments include: - Acting as the subject matter expert in the processes and procedures related to complex asset identification and debt collection activities. - Investigating complicated financial assets and transactions and providing comparative analyses of information furnished by debtors. - Interpreting and enforcing judgments in criminal cases and performing all functions to collect amounts imposed as a result of the prosecution of criminal cases. - Obtaining and analyzing financial information on debtors to determine their present and future potential ability to pay. - Drafting and/or preparing letters, forms and reports necessary to initiate the collection of debts. - Making determinations as to the appropriateness and cost effectiveness of pursuing the obligation either by suit or proceedings subsequent to the entry of judgment to enforce collection. - Preparing payment plans which involve reviewing financial asset information the debtor has submitted. - Returning deficient claims explaining those deficiencies determined through the claim referral analysis; and - Entering and tracking financial data in automated systems and spreadsheets. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Salary- $60,751 - $78,974/year
