About the Role

We’re looking for a Vice President of Legal Operations to build and lead the operational backbone of a fast-growing risk and fraud-detection platform.

As the company scales its partnerships across insurers, contractors, and legal teams, this role will design the systems, processes, and frameworks that power litigation support, compliance, and claims operations at scale.

You’ll work directly with senior leadership and external counsel to operationalize complex legal workflows, ensure regulatory alignment, and create scalable systems for managing risk, compliance, and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Strategy & Operations

• Partner with leadership to design and execute the legal operations roadmap.

• Build scalable tracking systems for claims, depositions, motions, and litigation outcomes.

• Create standardized playbooks, templates, and workflows for fraud reporting, subpoenas, and motion practice.

• Oversee implementation of contract lifecycle management across insurer, subcontractor, and data-provider agreements.

Claims & Litigation Support

• Operationalize fraud-detection and risk-scoring outputs into actionable legal strategies.

• Develop standardized workflows for discovery, subpoena responses, and motion drafting.

• Maintain compliance with New York civil procedures and insurance regulations.

Compliance & Risk

• Ensure adherence to federal and state data-privacy frameworks (HIPAA, NY DFS, GDPR where applicable).

• Manage compliance for workers’ compensation, general liability, and subcontractor insurance requirements.

• Anticipate and mitigate regulatory or litigation risks tied to data ingestion and OSINT research.

Leadership & Team Development

• Build and scale an internal legal operations team emphasizing automation and efficiency.

• Manage outside counsel relationships and legal budgets.

• Establish KPIs to measure performance, compliance, and value delivery to stakeholders.

Who You Are

• 8+ years of experience in legal operations, compliance, or litigation management within insurance, defense, or technology sectors.

• Proven record of building and scaling legal or compliance functions in growth-stage organizations.

• Deep understanding of data privacy, insurance law, and claims-management workflows.

• Strong operational mindset with the ability to translate legal complexity into structured, repeatable systems.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Work Environment

• Location: Midtown Manhattan, NYC

• Schedule: On-site, 5 days per week

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $140K – $170K
