We are seeking a full-time Legal Research Associate to join our team. This is an exempt position that will report to the Sr. Director of Member Services. We will consider remote, hybrid, or in-office arrangements based on the candidate.
The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, and self-motivated. This is a great opportunity to work on a broad range of projects across multiple departments and play a key role in supporting TRACE’s various initiatives.
Salary: $65,000 (plus eligible for annual discretionary bonus)
Responsibilities:
- Spearhead TRACE’s annual Investigative Journalism Prize event
- Support TRACE President with board-related matters
- Write/edit articles and blog posts for TRACE publication
- Conduct legal research
- Assist with TRACE event programming (i.e. development of substantive agendas, identifying and inviting speakers, facilitating panel discussions, social media posts at events, etc.)
- Create resources for TRACE’s Resource Center library (e.g. white papers, policies, training course and webinar content, etc.)
- Perform additional duties as assigned, which may be modified to support business needs
Qualifications Required
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited institution
- 1-3 years of experience in a law firm or corporate setting
- Superior writing ability, strong analytic skills, and meticulous attention to detail
- Professional / able to maintain confidentiality and discretion
- Comfortable with public speaking and presenting, both live and virtually
- Collaborative but able to work independently with minimal oversight
- Flexible and adaptable
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)
Preferred
- Law Review / journal experience
- Prior familiarity with issues surrounding the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other transnational anti-corruption laws and initiatives.
- Non-legal journalism experience
- Fluency in multiple languages
