Position Summary
This position supports assigned Attorneys, Paralegals, and Case Managers on the trial team with all aspects of prelitigation administrative and medical records management. The role is detail orientated with a requirement of strong organizational skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performing basic client intakes and scheduling client calls
- Set up and organize case files in case management software
- Collect incident reports, medical records, wage loss records, insurance information, and other case related documents
- Locate providers and schedule medical appointments for clients
- Communicate extensively with team and the attorneys
- Communicate with insurance companies and lien holders
- Resolve liens and medical provider balances
- Consistently following up with medical providers, and insurance adjusters until the completion of a task
- Assist in preparation of files for settlement demands
- Performs duties and directives as given by team to process requests, emails, and administrative requests.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- 1-2 years prior legal experience (personal injury preferred)
- Ability to order, read and understand medical records and bills
- Understand the difference between lien negotiations for ambulance companies, collection agencies, hospitals, and lien treaters.
- Experience handling voluminous case loads
- Familiarity with submitting claims with government subsidized healthcare and other healthcare insurance companies
- Excellent communication skills
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Ability to independently manage time effectively
