Job Description

Work within the firm's Creditors' Rights Department under the general supervision of the department attorneys. The ideal candidate will have approximately 5+ years of experience in New Jersey and Pennsylvania bankruptcy matters with particular emphasis on preparing documents and e-filing documents with the Court.

Essential Functions

Essential functions include, but are not limited to the below:

  • Monitor BKFS and Tempo for referrals and updating daily tasks due
  • Communicate with clients through BKFS, Tempo, email and phone
  • Opening bankruptcy referrals in Perfect Practice
  • Maintain court calendar and ensure that client and court deadlines are met
  • Drafting and filing Proof of Claims and Amended Proof of Claims in both NJ/PA
  • Drafting and filing Objection to Confirmation in both NJ/PA
  • Drafting and filing Motions for Relief from Stay in both NJ/PA
  • Resolving Motions for Relief from Stay and drafting Stipulations  
  • Drafting and filing Notice of Appearance, Notice of Payment Change, Post-petition Fee Notices, Transfer of Claim, Response to Notice of Final Cure in both NJ/PA
  • Notify client of any Objection to Claims, Debtor’s Motion to Sell, Reinstate Case, Reinstate Stay, etc. 
  • Must be team player willing to assist throughout the department

Requirements include, but are not limited to the below:

  • Prior experience preparing documents and e-filing documents with the Court regarding New Jersey and Pennsylvania bankruptcy matters.
  • Reviewing client payment histories
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills, including MS Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of BKFS and Tempo
  • Excellent communication and written skills, interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking
  • Able to work in a fast-paced  environment to meet client and court deadlines
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree
  • Preferred: Law firm experience
