Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Assistant to support our Human Resources department. This individual will play a key role in managing daily HR functions, supporting recruitment efforts, enhancing employee engagement, and maintaining accurate employee records. The ideal candidate will be organized, driven, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a dynamic legal office environment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records, ensuring compliance.
  • Prepare HR documents including contracts, offer letters, and termination paperwork.
  • Manage recruitment by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, and providing feedback.
  •  Coordinate and conduct employee onboarding, ensuring document completion and overseeing workstation setup and initial training.
  • Manage offboarding including exit interviews, documentation, and return of company property.
  • Assist with performance reviews and maintain performance records.
  • Organize and lead employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and events.
  • Compile HR reports and manage confidential employee data.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee HR inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and ensure alignment with company policies.
  • Handle administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and office supply management.
  • Create company materials including newsletters and flyers.
  • Provide general HR support and perform other tasks as needed.

  • Must pass a background check
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This role operates in a professional office setting. The employee routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The work environment is generally quiet to moderate in noise level. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times. Ability to focus and perform detailed accounting tasks for extended periods.


Schedule/Hours
Cohen Law Group Business hours are 8:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. Eastern Time.
