  • Track the status of immigration cases and maintain up-to-date records.

Background Check Coordination

  • Facilitate communication between internal stakeholders (HR, recruiters, leaders), background check vendors, and the legal team to ensure timely and accurate background check processes of candidates and employees.

  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance throughout the background check process.

  • Address and resolve issues or delays by proactively following up with stakeholders.

  • Draft, collect, and organize informational material, including creating and conducting training for internal stakeholders, as needed, on matters of background checks.

  • Track the status of background check cases and maintain up-to-date records.

Legal Team Support

  • Provide administrative assistance to the legal team, including recordkeeping, task assignment, minute-taking, form completion, document and policy review, and other miscellaneous administrative duties.

  • Maintain organized and confidential files, both electronic and paper.

  • Assist with drafting correspondence, reports, and internal communications as needed.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience at a law firm or in-house legal department, with exposure to immigration or employment law preferred.

  • Proven experience coordinating between multiple internal and external stakeholders.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.

  • Must be able to come into the Chicago office 3 times a week.

  • Familiarity with immigration case management or background check processes preferred.
