Simpson Thacher Human Resources is on an exciting transformational journey to deliver various strategic projects, including a global Workday implementation and the launch of various HR technologies and systems. We continue to transform the HR function and will be hiring a Manager of Change Management & Communications to support these efforts.
This role will be responsible for strategic leadership of HR change management efforts, supporting and interfacing with all of our stakeholders. The ideal candidate will take appropriate ownership and focus on building a positive employee experience, through clear and effective change management and communication plans. The successful candidate will work closely with the HR Leadership team to build a strategic communication plan and ensure a consistent look, feel, and tone across our communications.
The ideal candidate will leverage experience and expertise in HR transformation programs to deliver the following:
Change Management
- Lead the change management efforts for the implementation of various HR technologies, facilitating a smooth transition for all functions across the Firm.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand the impact of the transition on different departments and develop tailored change management strategies to drive adoption accordingly.
- Develop comprehensive communication plans to ensure transparency and alignment across the organization throughout the modernization process.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, conveying the benefits and rationale behind process enhancements, system changes and platform modernization.
- Implement and lead change management activities by applying an effective change management methodology, process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
- Identify and address potential barriers to adoption, proactively seeking solutions to ensure project success.
- Provide ongoing support to end-users to facilitate the adoption of the new platform. Assess training needs and develop and execute training plan where needed.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of change management initiatives, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Utilize project management skills to coordinate timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring the timely completion of milestones.
Communications
- Develop and implement Communications Strategy by collaborating with senior leadership to understand communication priorities aligned to organizational objectives audience needs.
- Identify key messages and narratives to effectively communicate HR policies, programs, processes and changes.
- Develop and deliver communications through primarily digital channels.
- Act as a change agent and drive a culture that embraces change and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with Business Development to share and amplify content.
- Ensure the tone, look and feel of communications are consistent across HR and other internal Firm communications
- Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Talent & Compensation, Benefits & Wellness and HR Technology teams to create, review and update Human Resources collateral.
- Utilize project management skills to coordinate timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring the timely completion of milestones.
Skills
- HR Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on change management and organizational development. Prior experience in a professional services environment preferred.
- HR Systems Expertise & Technical Skills: Subject matter expertise in Workday; experience with Qualtrics preferred. Technical proficiency with various HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and other relevant software; strong command of digital communication platforms and tools.
- Change Management Experience: Proven track record in leading and implementing change management initiatives within organizations.
- Communications Experience: Excellent written work product and the ability to influence through data and storytelling. Experience in developing and executing communication strategies, particularly in the context of organizational change.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders; strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Project Management: Proficiency in project management tools and techniques. Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze data and metrics to inform decision-making. Experience in conducting impact assessments and risk analyses.
- Influence and Persuasion: Skill in influencing and persuading others to support change initiatives.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree. Focus on Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Preferred certifications: Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Change Management Practitioner (CMP) or Certified Change Manager (CCM)
Salary Information
NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000 at the time of posting.
The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
