Job Description

Our client, a prestigious boutique law firm based in New York City, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Commercial Litigation Paralegal Assistant to support their legal team. This individual will work closely with 2-3 attorneys on a variety of case-related tasks, and should bring strong litigation experience and excellent organizational skills. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to grow within a high-caliber legal team. This is a full-time, in-office position (5x/week).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys and senior paralegals

  • Assist in preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials

  • Manage document production, including organizing, reviewing, and maintaining case files and exhibits

  • Coordinate court filings (electronic and physical) in state and federal courts

  • Maintain litigation calendars and track deadlines, court appearances, and discovery schedules

  • Assist with trial preparation including assembling binders, exhibits, and witness materials

  • Organize and maintain internal filing systems (both electronic and hard copy)

  • Schedule meetings and depositions; communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel as needed

  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings when appropriate

  • Perform additional administrative and case support tasks as assigned


REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5+ years of litigation experience in a law firm setting (commercial litigation preferred)

  • Strong understanding of court rules, filing procedures, and legal terminology

  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong follow-through and accountability for completing assignments independently

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management systems

  • Familiarity with legal research tools and electronic filing systems (e.g., NYSCEF, PACER)

  • Team-oriented with a proactive, flexible, and solution-driven attitude

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Paralegal certificate a plus

HOURS
9am-5pm or 10am-6pm

SALARY
$75-90K (DOE)
