Job Description
The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO), an agency of the judicial branch of the federal government, is committed to serving and supporting the U.S. federal court system and the public it serves. The AO provides a broad range of legislative, legal, financial, technical, management, administrative, and program support services to the federal courts.
Duties OPPORTUNITY: The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO) is seeking student interns with backgrounds or demonstrated interest in human resources, public affairs, law, business administration (marketing, budget, accounting, etc.), and information technology. The AO Student Internship Program provides valuable work experience and prepares interns for careers in public service. Interns have opportunities to hone their writing, communication, research, analytical, logical, multi-tasking, and customer service skills and receive valuable networking opportunities with fellow interns, agency employees, and other government employers. All internships at the AO are on-site at the Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building (TMFJB) and telework is not permitted. This internship opportunity is in AO's Office of the General Counsel (OGC). Duties include, but are not limited to: Researching case law, agency decisions, statutes, federal regulations, and other sources. Compiling data and drafting memoranda and other legal documents. Checking and reviewing memoranda, Judiciary forms, and other legal documents. Working with judicial branch employees in connection with OGC-related tasks. Salary- $0
