Responsibilities
- Represent clients in a wide range of criminal defense matters, including DUI, misdemeanors, felonies, and related criminal charges.
- Develop and execute strategic defense plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
- Conduct detailed case investigations, review evidence, and identify opportunities to strengthen client defenses.
- Research legal issues and draft persuasive motions, briefs, pleadings, and other court filings.
- Negotiate with prosecutors to pursue favorable resolutions while always advocating for the best interests of clients.
- Provide clients with clear legal guidance, case updates, and confidence throughout the legal process.
- Appear in court for arraignments, hearings, motions, trials, sentencing proceedings, and other critical appearances.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, investigators, and support staff to build strong, effective defense strategies.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar and in good standing.
- Prior criminal defense, DUI defense, prosecution, or litigation experience preferred.
- Strong courtroom presence with excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to effectively manage a busy caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a client-centered approach.
- A genuine passion for protecting constitutional rights and advocating for people in need.
