What You’ll Do
- Analyze patient information in the billing system to determine charges billed and evaluate unpaid or underpaid claims. This includes interpreting data from medical bills, EOB/EOR/Remittance documents, and Service Not Billed (SNB) reports.
- Prepare accurate spreadsheets for outside counsel, clearly detailing services provided, charges, payments, adjustments, and outstanding balances in alignment with eCare reporting values.
- Independently locate necessary documents within the eCare system and request additional records from external sources as needed. Use batch processing, when possible, to maximize efficiency.
- Research and provide additional documentation requested by contracted attorneys, such as CVs/resumes of staff and service providers, admissions documents, residential marketing materials, or any other information not included in the eCare consumer record.
- Track and maintain charts of legal documents received from contracted attorneys, incoming claim payments, and legal expenses for each case.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of current and pending regulations and legislation affecting billing and collections, with particular attention to commercial funders and the Michigan No-Fault Act and its impact on Hope Network.
- Collect, organize, record, store, and securely transmit all records related to pending litigation to contracted outside attorneys using secure online tools, such as secure online drop boxes, Team Share, and secure email.
Work Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Required to work onsite two Fridays per month
