The Division of Unclaimed Funds reunites Ohioans with their hard-earned but forgotten money. This includes taking reports of unclaimed funds that result when an account becomes dormant and the business no longer has contact information for the account owner, holding these funds for safekeeping and working aggressively to track down the rightful owner.

Commerce is currently operating under a hybrid schedule that may incorporate both teleworking and in-person office hours. Employees must be able to report to the office when requested by management &/or for their initial job training. This position is eligible for hybrid work based on management's discretion and only after completing the in-office training period.
Duties- Advise Division staff members on review and resolution of claims for unclaimed funds in conformity with the law
- Advise staff members on issues related to the registration and conduct of unclaimed funds finders
- Research and respond to public records requests in conformity with R.C. 149.43. Researching and respond to garnishments and other court orders to produce records and/or funds
- Participate in R.C. 119 administrative hearings and serve as hearing administrator for Division hearings/appeal meetings
- Investigate, track and respond to fraudulent submissions made to the Division. Assist in formulation and administration of Division fraud policy and procedure
- $37.53 - $53.58/hour
Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section 4705.01 of Revised Code; 12 mos. exp. as licensed attorney; 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development.
