
The Legal & CR&I Intern will support both the Legal Team and the Corporate Risk and Insurance Team, splitting their time andresponsibilities equally between the two functions. This cross-functional internship will provide exposure to domestic and international legal, compliance, and risk management matters across both the AJC Foods and AJC Logistics operations.
LEGAL DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Conduct compliance research and assist in reviewing current company policies to ensure adherence to FCTPA
(Foreign Corrupt Practices Act), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and related regulatory obligations.
· Research and coordinate demos for sanctions screening software to ensure proper vetting of international
transactions and compliance with U.S. and other applicable sanctions laws.
· Support the legal team on the Cuba Project, including due diligence on potential customers and assistance in
compiling export license applications for the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).
· Assist the Corporate Paralegal with the drafting and revision of the Company’s ESG and Privacy Policies.
· Support litigation-related work such as preparation and review of discovery responses and other legal
documents.
· Help develop compliance training materials for internal presentations across business units.
· Contribute to corporate reorganization initiatives by assisting with planning and documentation related to the
AJCL corporate structure and planned transitions.
CORPORATE RISK AND INSURANCE TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist with data entry and analysis for insurance claims relating to both the food provider and logistics entities.
· Provide support in monitoring, updating, and managing insurance documentation and records.
This role will be predominantly in-office, with the possibility of one remote workday per week. The intern will gain hands- on experience across legal, compliance, insurance, and operational risk functions, with a focus on international trade and
logistics.
