Position at First Cash

We are seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal to support our in-house litigation counsel in managing various aspects of legal cases throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have experience in both litigation and corporate law, demonstrating strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
 
Primary Responsibilities
Litigation Support
  • Organize, manage, and maintain litigation files, including pleadings, discovery materials, and trial documents.
  • Assist in drafting and filing legal documents such as briefs, motions, and subpoenas.
  • Track litigation deadlines, maintain case schedules, and ensure timely filings and responses.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external counsel, and key stakeholders throughout all phases of litigation.
  • Support attorneys in deposition, mediation, and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and drafting summaries.
 
Discovery & Document Review
  • Review, organize, and summarize discovery materials, including medical records.
  • Coordinate responses to subpoenas by gathering, reviewing, and submitting required documents.
 
Risk Management
  • Conduct legal research and analyze laws, regulations, and case precedents relevant to litigation and compliance risks.
  • Maintain and update risk management databases and reports, tracking claims, complaints, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Monitor regulatory and legal developments to assess potential impacts on the organization’s litigation risk profile.
 
Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations in litigation-related matters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and address compliance gaps and mitigate future risks.
 
Insurance & Claims Management
  • Coordinate with insurers on claims, coverage issues, and litigation matters.
  • Assist in preparing claims reports and conducting risk assessments.
 
 
Administrative & Communication Support
  • Draft and distribute legal correspondence, including legal holds, demand letters, settlement agreements, and notices.
  • Maintain accurate litigation and risk management records within document management systems.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, hearings, and depositions for the legal team.
 
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively with time-sensitive materials.
  • Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency in maintaining organized files and databases.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in paralegal studies.
  • Professional certification such as NALA, AACP, or ABA.
  • Experience in administrative support within a legal setting.
  • Familiarity with legal report-writing processes.
