
This individual will support the global activities of the P&C Business Unit across all business functions, while also providing general assistance to the Legal and Compliance teams as needed based on time and experience. The position reports directly to the P&C Americas Chief Legal Counsel.
Responsibilities
- Creating and ensuring accurate corporate records are maintained in all required systems, managing and certifying via legally required secretary certificate the production of corporate governance records for regulatory examination, audit purposes or other initiatives.
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including an annual review and/or modification of corporate documentation, annual or quarterly reviews and filings.
- Participating and assisting in key regulatory submissions, including annual filings relating to Enterprise Risk, Holding Company Act compliance, and corporate governance as well as regulatory reporting.
- Organizing and updating, as needed, the calendar of reporting and filing requirements, including ad-hoc and periodic disclosure.
- Supporting all aspects of Board and Committee meetings, including working collaboratively with the Assistant Corporate Secretary to address legal requirements requiring board action, design agendas considering regulatory requirements and management’s direction, overseeing and assisting with the preparation, collection and distribution of meeting materials, attending all meetings and drafting, reviewing and finalizing meeting minutes.
- Utilizing existing systems and procedures and/or establishing new procedures to facilitate the organization and retrieval of documents by and for the attorneys. Overseeing organization, maintenance, and appropriate utilization of electronic and hard-copy documents and other case-related materials, including maintenance of electronic case folders and tracking spreadsheets across various platforms.
- Drafting, reviewing, and/or analyzing routine legal documents and correspondences as requested by attorneys; conducting legal research. Assisting with answering legal referrals. Tracking completion and follow-up with attorneys as needed.
- Supporting compliance efforts of the direct insurance platform.
- On a case-specific basis, coordinating and overseeing all support tasks as needed on litigation matters and/or internal or external investigations.
- Providing periodic reports to the team on emerging legal and regulatory issues and the state of the regulatory compliance program.
- Bandwidth permitting, providing legal guidance and support re: any assigned P&C transactional and underwriting matters for the Americas.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred, but all profiles with significant experience considered
- Certificate in Paralegal studies from an accredited institution a plus
- (Re)insurance industry experience preferred but not mandatory
- Significant substantive knowledge of procedures, terminology and documents relating to corporate matters.
- Outstanding organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to both understand the “big picture” and pay attention to detail.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and to work proactively.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently.

Pay Ranges for roles performed in NY: $126,000-$154,000 base salary per year. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives.
