Position Summary:

Greenberg Traurig (GT) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Knowledge Management (KM) Attorney to join our dynamic team and support our Real Estate Practice Group. The KM Attorney will work closely with the Real Estate Practice Group to manage the organization and efficient delivery of knowledge assets. The KM attorney will be responsible to create and implement systems and processes that will allow the members of our Real Estate Practice group to efficiently and readily access forms, precedent documents, and research materials to ensure that the information available to the lawyers in the group is up to date, consistent, and of the quality commensurate with its world leading reputation. The KM attorney will be expected to suggest and implement innovations in the way our Real Estate lawyers retain and share information and materials and be responsible for collecting, indexing, storing, and updating the precedents, forms, and research materials our real estate lawyers use and ensuring that the material is easily and efficiently shared and accessed. Reporting directly to the Director of Knowledge Management and the Co-Chairs of the Global Real Estate Group, the KM Attorney will also collaborate closely with the Innovation and Research teams to leverage collective knowledge effectively and enhance efficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates with Real Estate attorneys to identify areas where innovation can improve the materials that our Real Estate lawyers use and the systems and processes for making that information easily and efficiently available and accessible.

  • Participates in, and coordinates with lawyers and paralegals the review of, changes to documents, tools and transactional procedures as needed.

  • Independently and collaboratively selects, collects, and organizes valuable reference materials on internal sites and databases.

  • Designs and optimizes processes for creating, capturing, processing, tagging, archiving, and organizing legal knowledge.

  • Implements consistent and effective means of communicating the availability, latest updates, and location of Real Estate Practice resources (e.g., form documents and market update resources).

  • Integrates knowledge management processes seamlessly into the daily activities of attorneys and staff.

  • Participates in training initiatives, including internal training sessions and other educational programs.

  • Collaborates with the KM Department to develop solutions that increase efficiency, enables legal project management, and improves legal service delivery, such as document assembly packages, expert systems, and client-facing applications.

  • Participates in KM Department meetings to share best practices and knowledge.

  • Assists in business development efforts, including thought leadership initiatives, client seminars, and pitches, to elevate the practice and the firm’s KM Department.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Demonstrated expertise with law firm research, innovation tools and solutions including, but not limited to Westlaw Precision, Lexis+, Lex Machina, Intelligize, Copilot, Contract Companion, BriefCatch, and other related tools.

  • Proficiency in facilitating and presenting training programs in classroom and virtual environments. Proficiency in the application of instructional design, curriculum design, and adult-learning principles. * Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. * A self-starter who takes ownership of assigned projects and shows commitment to the job; ability to work independently.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within all levels of the firm and collaborate well in a team environment to create support for programs.

  • High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively.

  • Ability to shift priorities and manage change with a positive outcome.

  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, take initiative, and practice good judgment.

  • Provide outstanding client service and be proactive in seeking innovative ways in which to help colleagues.

Qualifications & Prior Experience:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal or knowledge management role within a law firm or corporate legal department.

  • Highly preferred focus area in commercial real estate, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, commercial real estate leasing, and commercial real estate transactions.

  • Strong understanding of legal concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in utilizing knowledge management tools and technologies.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
