Job Description

ABCO Maintenance is a Commercial Facility Maintenance/Construction Company that has been serving the Tri-State area 7 days a week/24 hours a day for over 35 years. We are actively recruiting an Lawyer specializing in Employment/HR/Contract Law.

The role will be responsible for ensuring ABCO operates within the laws and regulations applicable to our industry while maintaining ethical standards. This role involves developing, monitoring, and enforcing compliance policies and procedures and providing strategic guidance on regulatory matters.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ Years of Employment/HR/Contract Negotiation Law : Proven experience in a compliance role, preferably within the facility maintenance or construction industry.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of federal, MULTI-STATE, and local compliance requirements.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for creating policies and conducting training.
  • Ethics and Integrity: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain high ethical standards.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with compliance management systems or tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Policy Development and Implementation

  • Develop, implement, and monitor HR/Compliance policies and procedures in line with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular reviews and updates of compliance protocols to ensure alignment with the latest laws and standards.
  • Provide compliance guidance to employees and management on organizational policies and best practices.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure the company meets federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation to regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed compliance records and ensure the organization is audit-ready at all times.

Training and Communication

  • Ensure ABCO obtains and maintains all necessary certifications
  • Conduct compliance training programs to educate employees on relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and distribute compliance communication materials across the organization.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Perform regular audits to monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Investigate compliance violations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare compliance reports for senior management, outlining findings and areas for improvement.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation

  • Identify compliance risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address compliance-related issues proactively.
  • Contract negotiation with customers and Key Accounts
