Job Description

Job Summary: 

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial Litigation Principal to join our law firm. As a principal, you will play a key role in leading and expanding our commercial litigation practice, handling high-stakes cases, and providing strategic guidance to clients.


Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage commercial litigation cases from inception through trial or resolution, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Provide expert legal advice to clients across various industries in complex commercial disputes, such as breach of contract, business torts, shareholder disputes, and fraud claims.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation including depositions, mediations, arbitration, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in federal and state courts.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships by acting as a trusted advisor and offering business-minded legal solutions to address their litigation needs.
  • Collaborate with other practice groups within the firm, including employment, corporate, real estate, and estate planning administration, to provide integrated services for clients with multifaceted legal issues.
  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff, providing guidance on litigation strategy, case management, and professional development.
  • Drive business development efforts by expanding existing client base, identifying new market opportunities, and participating in firm marketing initiatives.
  • Contribute to the firm’s leadership and strategy by participating in management decisions, practice development, and principal meetings.


Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Licensed to practice law in Ohio.
  • At least 7+ years of experience in commercial litigation with a proven track record of success.
  • Extensive trial and courtroom experience in federal and state courts.
  • Exceptional negotiation and advocacy skills, with a strategic approach to litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand client needs and offer practical solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills.
  • Strong networking and business development skills with a proven ability to attract and retain clients.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
