Our San Diego, CA office is currently seeking an experienced Mass Tort Litigation Attorney.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mass Tort Litigation Attorney drives complex litigation from initial case investigation through resolution, advocating for clients and ensuring accountability in large scale cases, including product liability, pharmaceutical, medical devices, environmental, and other mass tort cases. This role involves managing all aspects of cases, collaborating with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, developing case strategies, and optimizing outcomes to ensure successful resolution and support the overall success of the legal department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and litigate mass tort cases from inception through resolution, including pre-litigation, discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
- Work with clients to gather and analyze case information, including medical records, expert testimony, and other relevant evidence.
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and motions.
- Coordinate with experts, investigators, and other professionals to build and strengthen cases.
- Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations surrounding mass tort claims and apply that knowledge to cases.
- Collaborate with colleagues in developing legal strategies, case theories, and trial tactics.
- Manage large volumes of documents and complex case files.
- Keep clients informed about the status of their cases, provide guidance, and explain legal options.
- Monitor and report on the progress of cases, including key dates, deadlines and developments.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging legal issues, and relevant mass tort litigation.
- Travel may be required for this position as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active license to practice law in the State of California.
- 3+ years of experience overseeing mass tort or complex litigation cases.
- Strong knowledge of civil litigation, with expertise in mass tort law, including class actions, personal injury, product liability, and environmental law.
- Experience collaborating with expert witnesses, managing discovery, and conducting depositions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, legal research platforms (e.g., LexisNexis or Westlaw), and case management software.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting.
- Perform repetitive tasks such as typing and clicking.
- Must be able to lift and move light items up to 20 pounds at times.
- Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and sit.
