Job Description
The U.S. Attorney's Office represents the Federal government in virtually all litigation involving the United States in the Eastern District of California. This includes all criminal prosecutions for violations of Federal law, civil lawsuits by and against the government, and actions to collect judgments and restitution on behalf of victims and taxpayers.
Duties The United States Attorney is seeking experienced attorneys to serve as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division of the Fresno Office. The Fresno office has two criminal units: the White Collar Crime Unit and the Narcotics and Violent Crime Unit. Your application will be considered for vacancies in both units but you may indicate a preference in your cover letter. Depending on unit assignment, the Assistant U.S. Attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of criminal cases including complex white collar, economic, narcotics and violent crimes. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Salary- $74,311 - $174,360/year
