Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related legal instruments.
- Prepare and review legal documents for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with applicable laws; proofread and edit drafts meticulously.
- Support probate and trust administration processes by organizing court filings, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with clients and third parties.
- Conduct interviews with clients to gather necessary information for estate planning or trust administration.
- Assist with document review, data entry, filing, and maintaining organized case files in a timely manner.
- Provide executive administrative support by managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence related to trust & estate matters.
- Collaborate with team members on litigation cases involving estate disputes or trust challenges when required.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of estate planning laws, probate procedures, tribal law & regulations, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, patent law, and litigation processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Effective interviewing skills to gather comprehensive client information accurately.
- Superior writing skills for drafting legal documents, contracts, reports, and correspondence; strong proofreading abilities.
- Ability to perform thorough legal research and synthesize findings clearly for attorneysâ review.
- Experience in legal administrative tasks including data entry, filing systems, document review, transcription, and clerical support within a law office setting.
- Exceptional phone etiquette combined with professional communication skills for client interactions and internal coordination
Requirements· Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of Trusts & Estates Paralegal experience
· Paralegal Certification desirable
· Excellent attention to detail
· Ability to meet deadlines and work independently on multiple matters
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and Outlook
