A leading intellectual property law firm in Chicago is seeking a skilled and motivated Lateral Trademark Associate to join its collaborative Trademark Practice Group. This role is ideal for attorneys with 5+ years of trademark-focused legal experience who are eager to grow their careers in a firm that values professional development, teamwork, and excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of 5 years of trademark-focused legal experience.
  

• A license to practice law in Illinois or eligibility to sit for the Illinois bar.
  

• Strong academic credentials, legal reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  

• Proven experience in trademark prosecution, clearance searches, infringement litigation, and portfolio management.
  

• Additional expertise in anti-counterfeiting, domain name disputes, advertising and sweepstakes counseling, and copyright issues is highly valued.
  

• Excellent communication, organizational, and mentoring skills.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a wide range of trademark matters, including prosecution, enforcement, and litigation.
  

• Provide strategic counsel to clients on domestic and international trademark portfolios.
  

• Handle trademark opposition proceedings, anti-counterfeiting litigation, and domain name disputes.
  

• Supervise and mentor junior associates within the practice group.
  

• Participate in team and individual business development efforts.
  

Compensation and Benefits

• A highly competitive salary of $250,000 to $280,000, commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience.
